Job Summary:

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping global technical curriculum by testing, deploying, and publishing hands-on labs across Instructor-led, Self-paced, and Blended learning courses.

You will set the technical direction and establish best practices for lab development, mentor and guide other lab developers, and drive high-quality, scalable solutions. Beyond technical leadership, you will ensure effective planning, coordination, and on-time delivery of labs that directly impact the success of learners worldwide.

You’ll collaborate closely with curriculum developers, subject matter experts, and platform engineers in an innovative and supportive environment that values creativity, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Success in this role will be measured by the quality, reliability, scalability, and timely delivery of hands-on labs, as well as your ability to enable sustainable curriculum growth.

You will serve as the go-to technical mentor for the lab development team. This role carries significant influence on technical direction, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment for the Curriculum Lab Development team.

Big Data & Cloud Technologies

• 5+ years of experience working with Apache Spark, cloud-native data solutions, and major public cloud platforms.
• Strong experience with cloud services such as Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, Synapse, or equivalent services on AWS/GCP.
• Strong understanding of scalable cloud-based data and computing environments.

Programming & Data Engineering

• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, and SQL, including complex queries and performance tuning.
• Experience with APIs, SDKs, and integrations required for developing and delivering hands-on technical labs.
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and scalable data processing.

Machine Learning & AI

• Exposure to Machine Learning, Generative AI, and AI-driven data workflows.
• Ability to develop or support hands-on learning experiences involving modern AI and data technologies.

ETL/ELT Development

• Proven ability to design, build, and optimize robust pipelines for batch and streaming data.
• Strong understanding of data extraction, transformation, cleansing, integration, and management.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing data pipelines for reliability and performance.

Modern Data & Development Stack

• Experience with modern orchestration, CI/CD, and version-control tools.
• Strong experience with Git, workflow orchestration, automation, and deployment pipelines.
• Ability to build repeatable, scalable, and maintainable lab environments.

Leadership & Execution

• Strong problem-solving and technical leadership skills.
• Ability to establish technical direction and development best practices.
• Strong planning, coordination, and program management capabilities.
• Experience working cross-functionally with curriculum developers, engineers, SMEs, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery.

Continuous Learning

• Strong interest in staying current with advancements in cloud, data engineering, AI/ML, and modern learning technologies.
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve hands-on learning experiences.

Support & Maintenance

• Proven experience troubleshooting production issues and maintaining reliable technical environments.
• Experience providing technical support for large-scale learning events and hands-on labs with high participant volumes.

Good to Have

Data Architecture

• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, data architecture, and data governance best practices.

Education & Lab Platforms

• Familiarity with customer or partner education programs and technical learning deliverables.
• Experience working with hands-on lab and education platforms such as Vocareum or similar platforms.
• Understanding of learner experience and technical curriculum delivery requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Relevant cloud, data engineering, AI/ML, or technology certifications are a plus.
• Strong communication, mentoring, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
