Mr. Laser

Mr. Laser

Challenge
  • Designing has always been an important parameter for game development. Designing the game board with players and opponents for different levels using the scene graph’s different renderable nodes was a tiresome task to achieve as it was quite difficult to handle the renderable nodes.
  • Another most complex job was to set the animation of hitting the target, moving the bullet and set them in their respective coordinates.
Progress
  • We designed a home screen along with the game board of ten levels having the player and opponents at different positions using the scene graph’s different renderable nodes.
  • We used different scene graph animation nodes to set the animation to set the target in any direction and hitting the bullet using the BrightScript on left/right/up/down button press.
  • Implemented logic in BrightScript to calculate the score based on the number of bullets used to kill all opponents in each level.
Result
  • Completed the gameboard animation of hitting bullet and killing opponents the board. There are ten different levels with diverse complexities to complete the game.
